Oath

You can try to blind my senses and blister my hope,

Bring me papers to devour and make me choke

I will stand, stand, stand all by myself, away from your clouds.

And I will break your strings into pieces, for I am no puppet, but a person

Who can see beauty, ache for the sorrow of people trampled by your greed.

And cut myself up open for the world to see who I am. And for what I stand.

I will not be limited by your fucking facades of circling-back and value-creation

Yes this is about me. There is no space for humility when

my mind is being stuffed with the gutter of tasteless inhumanity.

Taken for a Fool

I have been spreading fires onto the machine

And to everything that’s ever come out of it

“An abomination of the lowest order” I called it.

Never knew that I was taken for one.

I joined the forces taking down the towers built on blood

And riches traded through tears.

“The bluest of the poisons” I felt

Oh now I am taken for one.

I threw a thousand spears at the man

leading the trail of our suffering

I knew his footprints are made by a mere fool

Now I am taken for one, I reckon.
